0 Question: Why have we only been to space once? Keywords: space Asked by #ashleysbiggestfan to Ashley, Bernard, Carsten, MariaMagdalena, Monique on 7 Nov 2015.
Ashley Hughes answered on 7 Nov 2015:
Hey,
According to this wiki article (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_human_spaceflights) we have sent 310 manned flights into space so far, and this is improving every year.
This is an exciting time for space exploration with the ESA landing A probe on a comet for the first time, the mars explorations happening!
In the future there is a planned perminant base on the moon by the ESA and Russia in ~2020 (https://www.newscientist.com/article/mg22830443-400-russia-starts-moon-base-collaboration-with-european-space-agency/)
Meanwhile NASA is planning to put a man on an astroid by 2025 and Mars by ~2030 (https://www.nasa.gov/content/nasas-journey-to-mars/)
