      Historical: Marie Curie is an outstanding scientist who had great ideas and fought for them. A very good role model for many (female and male) researchers.

      Emmie Noether is probably my favourite scientist. She worked in Germany as a scientist at the beginning of the 20th Century. Some people describe her as the moment important woman in mathematics, but she had a huge impact in physics too.
