Because it’s ridiculous! Honestly, the universe has so many weird and wonderful things in it, I almost can’t believe those things exist. For example, I study galaxy clusters, which are the largest objects in the Universe. They contain hundreds or thousands of galaxies, and each of those galaxies has hundreds of millions (or billions) of stars. Even the shear size of these things is unimaginable. On top of that the galaxies are rushing around the galaxy cluster, moving faster than bullets. I think even the fact they exist is amazing, and that encourages me to figure out how they came to be.
