      This particular steel is designed especially to improve the crash resistance at the front end and side impact of auto-mobiles (cars, trucks etc.) so you wouldn’t really use it for other applications. The way we design new steels is to look at what is needed by the component it is going into and then tailor the material to give us the best performance. There are still standard grades which can be used for a undemanding applications like fridges, doors, computer cases and that sort of thing, but we are seeing more and more specialised steels for demanding applications.
