One stone of material is always one stone. A stone (or kg) is a measure of weight which is basically how much force a certain amount of matter (material) exerts on he planet under the pull of gravity. In that case it makes more sense to talk about how much matter there is in a certain amount of space (something we call density). If you filled a box of 1m wide by 1m breadth by 1m high with steel, it would weigh (on earth) around 7900kg (around 1250 stone), but the same box full of water would only weigh around 1000kg (160 stone). The pull of gravity on the moon is about six times weaker than on the earth, so the same box full of steel would only weight around 20o stone and the water around 27 stone.
