      Our sun won’t explode…it is not massive enough for this process. Instead it will expand into a red giant in a few Billion (!) years before collapsing down into a white dwarf and slowly cooling down to the background temperature of the Universe. Not quite as spectacular as an explosion – and fortunately a long way off…
