In my PhD not so much, just between Liverpool and Diamond Light Source (I had a joint PhD with both places), also a couple of trips to London for conferences.

In my current job I live in Sweden (kind of traveling I guess at first), and have visited Finland twice. I currently have plans to visit Switzerland (sychatron near Zurich) and Germany for work. My lab regularly goes to places like the USA and Japan for various bits of work too.

I travel a little bit for mine – I go to meet other researchers for workshops and conferences. I’ve mainly travelled within the UK (Durham, Leeds and Birmingham), but occasionally overseas (Munich).

      Hello Laura,
My project is a very special one, as it is part of a European network of scientists called Marie Curie “P4fifty” (http://www.p4fifty.eu/). All Marie Curie projects give scientists the possibility to travel to other partner laboratories as well as industries (for this reason I’ve been two weeks in the Netherlands, two weeks in France and two weeks in Denmark) . In addition to that, all scientists have to attend conferences, to meet other researchers in the same field. I’ve been to a conference in USA and in Japan. It was truly amazing!! 🙂
