      Scientific thinking and experiments go a LONG way back to the ancient Greeks, Egypts, Arabs, etc. There was not one person who started it…asking questions is rather a fundamental trait of mankind.

      I think Roger Bacon (13th century) is usually credited as the first scholar to promote inductive reasoning as a scientific approach.
