      Hey

      Fat is a store of energy to keep you going when food might be sparse. We burn fat when the levels of glucose in our body drops too low and needs topping up. When this happens fat is converted to glucose which is used as energy for the body.

      If you are to lose weight your intake of energy (food) needs to be less than your needs, this means that fat would be burnt to keep your energy levels high. Obviously starving yourself would be silly. Don’t do that.
